Chloralieve lozenges have a range of ingredients that can numb the pain of a sore throat and help fight infection. Below you can find a full list of the ingredients contained in each of the flavour options.
Chloralieve lozenges – Blackcurrant Flavour
The active ingredients contained in Chloralieve Blackcurrant Flavour lozenges are Lidocaine hydrochloride 2 mg, Amylmetacresol 0.6 mg and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg. The other ingredients are Mint oil, partly dementholised, Star anise oil, Levomenthol, Indigo carmine (E-132), Quinoline yellow (E-104), Sodium saccharin (E-954), Tartaric acid (E-334), Sucrose, Liquid glucose.
Chloralieve lozenges – Honey & Lemon Flavour
The active ingredients contained in Chloralieve Honey & Lemon Flavour lozenges are Lidocaine hydrochloride 2 mg, Amylmetacresol 0.6 mg and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg. The other ingredients are Mint oil, partly dementholised, Quinoline yellow (E-104), Sodium saccharin (E-954), Tartaric acid (E-334), Sucrose, Liquid glucose, Sunset yellow (E-110), Lemon essence, Honey flavour.
Side effects
All medicines, including Chloralieve lozenges, may cause side effects in some patients. If patients experience any of the following signs, they could be having an allergic reaction. They should stop taking the lozenges immediately and get medical help:
– Swelling of the tongue, larynx, face or mouth
– Breathing or swallowing difficulties
– Hives
Other side effects which have been reported with Chloralieve lozenges are:
– Stinging of the throat
– Burning
– Itching
– An unpleasant taste
